Concert of the summer!

Radiohead Definately made it to the top of my list,
it was definately a concert you didn't want to take one bathroom break.
the pit was "star-studded" meaning many famous faces were scene also enjoying the music.
Besides the impecible music, the visuals of the concert were completely incredible.
Here are some pictures from the concert...

What we like about raves

Well, mostly its the fun quirky atmosphere and carefree loving attitude that circulates the rave scene air.
Its the fact there is so much love roaming around.
But why is the outrageous fashion so lovable?
In my personal opinion a lot of the styles at rave can easily be compared to most harajuku girls in japan. Here are some examples:
Harajuku Girls in general VS. Raver Girls

The New Vibe

So what is in store for this fall!
primarily we are taking a step back into the 60's and 70's era.
if you havent noticed the main fashion scene is hippie and festival girl based.
Some trends to look ahead into are:
  • Ripped hole-y jeans! (again...i know)

Yay for Anime

So in my eyes, I never thought anime was that cool, until i saw that Daft Punk took a spin on it,
and now high fashion designers are taking a shot.
I think its the beginning of a revolution, won't you agree? Here is prada's take on the fandango...

But i still  Murakami

I think this anime inspiration is becoming an epidemic.
More on this japanese love later,
Hope your feelin' your daily dose!

Creativity on Mondays

For all you Art Insomniacs here is something fun to do late night,
what you need:
  • some handy scissors
  • Victorian/ or Baroque style frame
  • Your favorite magazine spread
  • Black, white, neon, ect... poster.
So basically we all have our favorite most inspiring magazine layout torn up lying around somewhere, and you wonder "what am i going to do with this, its too good not to be put in my room!"
well here is what I did...
Ive had this collection of artsy yet nature driven photos for quite a while, and not until recently I decided I needed to get them framed.
So I got a random yet royal silver frame to offset my black and white room, and a black poster board and made a collage out of the photos. To give it the home grown yet not so home made look I ripped the edges, and contrasted the collage with the black and white center piece!
Hope your feelin' just as inspired!

On the idea of pictures,

So being a browser in facebook, I sprung up with an idea,
I thought that it would be more than suitable to come up with tips to taking the ultimate facebook picture,

TIPS TO THE BEST DEFAULT:
  • Someone else is taking the picture/ or the camera is on timer.
  • Body shot/ or an uplclose and personal head shot.
  • Your in the moment, your definitely not posing, unless your at a party or somewhere with a festive background.
  • Never crop someone out.
  • Mac Photobooth pictures, are not ok. they were good when everyone didnt have a macbook. but now that the world is exposed it might as well be the lame excuse for not having a camera.
  • Your allowed to have friends in your picture as long as there isnt more than 1 other person with you.
  • Good lighting matters
  • Level of creativity matters
  • Its ok to use a picture where your not looking at the camera, but atleast look happy/have attitude/ or almost aware there is a picture being taken. Never use a picture where your completely focussed, unless A. its funny, B. The accessories and put together is cute or C.your in a car. (sometimes ok)
  • I think its important to portray who you are, do that exactly.
  • A cool thing to look into is matching the color scheme of your outfit to the surroundings of your picture, this tends to make your picture pop out compared to others people while browsing.
  • Another interesting factor is the effect you use, some examples are fisheye, b&w, polaroid (to some extent,) disposable, ect...
  • If your not going for the happy thing, go for 'TUDE.
Well those are some tips that i could come up with right off the top of my head if you have any ideas feel free so comment away : )
Hope your feelin' your daily dose!

The L.A Uniform?

So after much research, well not really. Because its a uniform...
You can have your typical uniform and be apart of the crowd,

Or you can dress up your uniform.

Hope this gives you a clue!

Valley go-er exclusive,

The Debatable question is, is "Il Tram" still hip or completely played out?
We have all heard of the little neighborhood panini stop on ventura blvd. in sherman oaks,
and have all had our fair share of lunches there; though the question is, how cool is it really to be seen there? Personally I feel everyone knows what it is, and instantly says "its so good!" though, is the hype what makes it so good? i know the first time I went there i was only enthusiastic because of the rave i received from my friends. After frequently visiting the joint for half a year, i realized i feel insecure running into people there, and now i feel as if its lost its cool factor.
So after much research I found the alternative in the heart of studio city.
Its a lot more underground, and a lot more enjoyable...its the Artisan Cheese Gallery. Weve all driven past it, and never realized they sell sandwiches, salads, and all types of delicious foods there.
!! personally i think its simply the place to crave, its located on ventura blvd. and laurel canyon across from the center where pinkberry is located.! enjoy!
Hope to stir up your appetite!
